There is one native Hungarian I consider one of my greatest role models and heroes, and another I confess to loathing with a passion. Both are Jews, and this bears noting because for me the entire significance lies therein. Because I am a Jew, but no Hungarian.
The one was Imi Lichtenfeld, son of a chief police inspector (who’d earlier been a circus acrobat and now ran a gym); he’d studied dance and trained in boxing and wrestling, learned techniques from his father. As a young man during the 1930s he’d organized a group of about a hundred "inglorious basterds" to combat the intensifying antisemitism which threatened their neighbourhoods. This developed into techniques he used in the course of time as the National-Socialist push made itself known, in both Hungary and in Czechoslovakia. Reassessing the crucial difference between sport fighting and street fighting he’d developed the defense combat style which was to be Krav Maga and which he would come to be commissioned with introducing into the Israeli IDF. He saw to its becoming an institution with international acclaim and presence, he’d trained people in it until about age 84, then took it easy until he passed on at 88. That’s one native Hungarian, who not only went to bat for his people, he showed them how to use one right, or to manage without.

Then there’s George Soros, the celebrated and so-called philanthropist, about whom BBC tells us that at age nine he’d helped warn other Hungarian Jews about the impending deportations. Whereas according to Soros himself, he was in fact 14 at that time – and rather than warning anyone, this Hungarian Jew was engaged in assisting his non-Jewish protector, a government Minister, in the process of expropriating Jewish property on behalf of the new pro-Nazi government.
He’d admitted in a 1998 segment of 60 Minutes to having "no regrets" when he and his godfather were sending the Jews on trains to the concentration camps to be executed. "Somebody had to do it, might as well have been me! Happiest time in my life for me was the day Hungary came under German occupation! My character was made that day!"
Is it just me, or does the mentality of that character strike a deafeningly familiar tone?
Soros himself has said that those were "some of the best times" in his life. His more recent activity has involved a financing groups like MoveOn.org and the Open Societies Foundation, both undisguised fronts of Leftist political activity. He has repeatedly used his enormous investable wealth to influence the activities of industries, economies, and governments, subverting their interests in favor of his own.
Had his billions against Trump’s own been sufficient, we’d have Hillary today. That says enough already.
With regard to Israel, Soros has graciously conceded that while he, "doesn't deny the Jews a right to a national existence", he just "doesn't want anything to do with it".
When these points are considered it should come as no surprise that, notwithstanding a problem Hungary also may well have with anti-Semitism, the Western MSM see themselves – not only as "morally justified" but in a position at all – to attack Hungary’s own sovereign, elected government, over its attitude towards one of its native sons. Even Israel, which had first called Hungary out on its antisemitic climate, stood fully – and unequivocally – by the latter’s decision to officially go after Soros, and to ban all NGOs operating in that country which are under the umbrella of Soros.
So this actually brings me to that third Hungarian, President Viktor Orban, who is himself neither Jewish nor antisemitic. Why is everyone from the MSM bashing him?
Because he says No to Merkel, No to the "Welcome Refugees – No Borders" insanity, and No to the globalisation politics of the EU.
