You Must Be Doing Something Right

You must be doing something right,

when you demonstrate for democracy and transparence

on the street weekly – but never weakly, just non-violently,

over critical issues, unpopular, poo-pooed by the press,

under police escort you walk, jeered, interrupted,

physically threatened by a violent mob 3 or 4 times your number.

You must be doing something right,

when you outline and articulate your arguments with clear statements

and are met with the mob's barking loathing name-calling,

low-brow screams free of clue or content,

from "Marxist"-wannabes, and the new Communist Party,

from "Antifa," from street Turks and Arabs, from Greens and The Left Party,

pathologically self-hating Germans – all whipped-up and driven,

calling you whipped-up and driven, only they are paid for this, you are not –

and you stand your ground, week for week,
                                                           against every provocation to react.

You must be doing something right,

when among your own speakers challenging Islam's claims here,

as with Munich's demo, are ex-Muslims, Blacks, Turks, French, Dutch,

Syrians, Egyptians, Israelis, Iraqi Christians, ex-CDU politicians,

a (real) Leftist from the renowned Voltaire Club – and some folks who

actually work directly with refugees and report on the frequency

with which Christian war-refugees are regularly cornered and mobbed

by their Muslim counterparts in the asylum houses –

all this being drowned out by the Antifa-led mob

as it howls, frothing and self-satisfied, "Nazis, Nazis, Nazis,"

and here among you, flags of the Federal Republic and of Israel,

me with a yarmulke.

You must be doing something right,

when the entire governing political spectrum weighs in against you,

libeling you as Public Enemy Uno, no discussion, only incrimination,

likening you to ISIS, as you merely demonstrate to save your nation

from the indignation of Islamisation.

You must be doing something right,

when all the Parties in the Bundestag, from far left to conservative,

pay that mob set against you upwards to 25 Euro a head per hour

to badger you into intimidation or into striking back, and these are warm-ups;

it may get worse, I think it will, it's already exceedingly nasty – to be

martyrdom-sent to an early grave or an ICU is not my style,
                                                                                    but neither is violence;

my plan is to breathe and be there at that Berlin Main Train Station
                                                                                                 every Monday,

and take my licks if it comes to that, and defend what I'm there for
                                                                                                    to the teeth.

You must be doing something right,

if you know that by this very exertion, simply turning out and being there,

there where you and yours are targeted for the pillory, maligned

in print and talk show, planned against, preached against, set against,

by all agencies which this non-pluralistic regime has at its command:

trade unions, both Churches, Jewish and Muslim Councils,
                                                                             all civil services, colleges,

media, schools – all grades, bar none – childrens' programs
                                                                                   programming children

in the doctrine of the lie of multi(mono)culti and all things politically correct.

Pegida, in whichever city, in whichever country across Europe

and outside of Europe, spreading as citizens of a grassroots movement;

TRANSLATION of my first Talk on the Walk, or Walk-Talk (above link) - the first of what turned out to be many more afterward:

"Dear Berliners, as an American of Jewish heritage, I came to Berlin 26 years ago, because I had a great interest in seeing and experiencing post-War Germany. I didn't know back then how long I would stay, no one could have imagined Pegida or the need for it.

"My goal was to actually get to know the post-War Germans. I had thought, just after the Fall of the Wall, that the NPD, the neo-Nazis, right, the Brown plague altogether, posed the greatest threat to the future of the Federal Republic of Germany.

"What I was able to recognize early on however, and it often turns my stomach to this day, was the pathological self-hatred of the Germans, in which no healthy patriotism ever could hope to find its place. I recognized that this self-hatred, stirred up as it was through politics, school and the media, is in truth the actual threat, for this guilt complex will never let the post-War generations, and therewith innocent Germans, heal themselves of this trauma, and therefore never become free

"For it cannot, must never be expected of any People, that it hates itself! We Americans are matter of factly an immigrated People with a 239 year history. You Europeans however, already have millenia of a colorfully woven carpet, with many national cultures and cultural branches, identities, etc. And I can in this as an American only be on your side, because the intentions of my government are a crime against you and altogether against the European Peoples.

"Now to my second point: Berliners, Pegida co-Walkers: over there are the real runners-with-the-herd! As we all know, they're all stirred up and paid to intimidate us and to provoke us, so that we lose our nerve, in order to finally legally justify prohibiting our Walks. But we as Bärgida remain ever further non-violent!! We remain strong, and speak out freely what honestly moves us and brings us together!

"Stay true to yourselves, even under this great pressure and libelous maligning! Stay the course, stay the course! For only a culture which is conscious of itself and appreciates itself can find peace, make peace, represent and spread peace. Only such a culture can build a respectful future with other countries and nations."
