It might intelligently be argued that cutting all pork or pork
products from one's diet is healthier for the body. It might
intelligently be argued to cut all meats from one's diet out of
humanitarian reasons because one does not wish to be party to the
slaughter of animals for one's table.
What cannot be argued however, call it kashrut or halal, is that the shunning of pork has ever made, or will
ever make, one a better person, a better Human Being, or for that
matter open the gates of paradise or draw one nearer to one's own Divine
Origin. And what cannot be argued, is that the shunning of
pork at all cost will in the least bit make one less brutal, less the
bigot, less the self-deluding supremacist and professional victim, less ignorant, less
contemptuous toward Nature, toward fellow creatures of the animal
kingdom, or toward fellow Humans. Whereas no one has ever argued that
eating pork does make you better (whatever standard of "better" is
meant), the dominant argument of Muslims is that it is the bottom line
of being on the right side of things.
So
pork-shunners bludgeoning and murdering fellow pork-shunners along with
dissing the pork-friendly world is something which today you are not allowed to call into question? So sue me for this, but Islam is the foremost example of where this "argument" falls apart of itself, without any help from non-Muslims.
I
say we leave God's poor darling piggies out of this equation and look
into our own souls – and I suggest the pork-shunners look into theirs
and see what all they've been putting out there, since the Proof is in the Putting – as in, "...not what ye put into your mouths will condemn you but what comes out of your mouths!"
